We expect all members of our team, new and veteran alike, to advance the ultimate goal of providing an exceptional campus environment by succeeding in these three critical areas.&nbsp;Purpose of Position:&nbsp;Maintains, repairs, installs, and modifies a variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.&nbsp;Duties and Responsibilities:&nbsp;• Electrical:&nbsp;troubleshoots and wires electrical, electronic and pneumatic control circuits. Reads, sketches and traces circuit schematics with test and measurement instruments.&nbsp;• Mechanical:&nbsp;performs troubleshooting, routine and repair service, as well as overhaul of various types of refrigeration equipment and systems, air handlers, boilers, furnaces, heating and hot water systems, pumps, compressors, and all associated auxiliaries.&nbsp;• Fabrication:&nbsp;repairs, fabricates and installs all types of piping, instrument systems, sheet metal and structural components.&nbsp;• Documentation:&nbsp;must be able to use, follow and understand the manufacturer's maintenance and service literature, assist in ordering parts, maintain machinery history logs and follow the guidelines of a preventive maintenance and work order system. Works under general supervision. Develop and document PM requirements.&nbsp;Qualifications:&nbsp;• A high school diploma or GED equivalent plus H.V.A.C. training courses are required, plus four (4) years experience as a journey level HVAC or a journeyman in a related trade.&nbsp;• To be qualified as a journeyman, an individual must have completed the required training through a formal apprenticeship program.&nbsp;• Must be able to read and sketch basic diagrams, interpret plans and specifications.&nbsp;• Preference will be given to individuals with comprehensive skills training and centrifugal chiller experience.&nbsp;• Must be able to follow job related oral and written instructions in English.&nbsp;• Demonstrate skilled, safe use of power and hand tools, and operate within the guidelines of the work order system.&nbsp;• Preference will be given to individuals with skills training, knowledge of multiple building trades, codes and the ability to train others.&nbsp;• Must be able to lift and move moderately heavy objects, up to 65 lbs. safely.&nbsp;• Knowledge of applicable safety procedures and regulations required.&nbsp;• Frequent kneeling and bending of the legs and back required.&nbsp;• Be able to work at elevated heights such as roof tops, extension ladders, on scaffolding, etc.&nbsp;• Must possess a valid California driver's license.&nbsp;Reasonable accommodations will be made to facilitate the performance of this work by persons with physical or mental impairments. Position Type:&nbsp; Adjunct/Adjunct Faculty Location:&nbsp; Main Campus Position:&nbsp; Rock Valley College is seeking Adjunct Faculty to teach Manufacturing Engineering Technology courses. Employment Notice:&nbsp;Rock Valley College does not offer sponsorship for employment-based visas for this position.&nbsp;&nbsp; Job Summary:&nbsp; Teach assigned classes and perform activities related to classroom instruction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Create instructor syllabus to share course expectations and policies with students and department.</li><li>Teach assigned classes including lecture and lab components as appropriate.</li><li>Plan class content and assign appropriate classwork including maintaining RVC’s Learning Management System (EAGLE).</li><li>Meet classes at assigned times in compliance with credit hour expectations.</li><li>Instruct students in the proper use of lab equipment including safety guidelines.</li><li>Assess student learning in meeting course objectives.</li><li>Evaluate student progress and assign mid-term and final grades.</li><li>Maintain student records including Enrollment Verification at the start of the semester.</li><li>Maintain office hours for student support.&nbsp; Expectation is one hour for each class taught at times convenient to students.</li><li>Participate in college and department training including continuous improvement through mentoring and evaluation activities.</li><li>Collaborate with department chair in assessment at the course and program levels including collecting and analyzing data.</li><li>Collaborate with department chair to revise Master Course Syllabus and catalog information including course objectives, topic outline, appropriate texts, and teaching materials.</li><li>Collaborate with lab manager to make sure that lab equipment is properly maintained including requesting lab supplies and equipment as needed.</li><li>Make minor repairs on lab equipment when practical and appropriate.</li><li>Regular attendance is expected.&nbsp;</li></ul> Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering technology or a closely related field or a combination of education, training &amp; tested experience.&nbsp; Industry-recognized certifications are preferred.&nbsp; Background should include working knowledge of one or more of the following areas:&nbsp;<ul><li>Creating engineering drawings per ASME Y14.5M</li><li>Computer-Aided Design including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.</li><li>Engineering materials science and manufacturing processes</li><li>Basic measuring equipment, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM’s)</li><li>Manual and/or CNC machining methods including machine setup, operation, and programming, as appropriate. &nbsp;Experience should include milling, turning, grinding, and drilling and may include other operations frequently used in modern manufacturing.</li><li>Other manufacturing and manufacturing engineering skills as needed to support the department course catalog</li></ul> Salary: $700 - $845 per CHE
